Isadora 4.5

*Isadora 4.5 is now live. *

Highlights

Most importantly, Isadora 4.5 offers VST audio plugin support, and we cannot wait to see what our creative community members will do with Isadora's new, advanced, and flexible audio manipulation capabilities.

This new version also offers a fixed version of the PJLink Plugin, a wild new video actor, 11 new audio actors, a huge improvement to the autosave system, many bug fixes, and several stability improvements.

NEW FEATURE: Cross-Platform VST Audio Plugin Support
In a huge leap forward, Isadora now supports VST (Virtual Studio Technology) audio plugins and VSTi (virtual instrument) plugins on both macOS and Windows. VST audio plugins process sound in real time, while VSTi (instrument) plugins generate audio (typically through synthesis or sample playback). This is a major enhancement to Isadora's audio capabilities, allowing you to use thousands of free and paid plugins available online. From high-quality effects like reverb, delay, and compression to complex synthesizers and sample-based instruments, this new feature opens the door to a wide range of creative and professional audio workflows. TroikaTronix would like to thank our friends at SIT (Scènes Interactives Technologiques) for commissioning us to develop this feature.

In this tutorial, I look at how Chataigne, a timeline-based (but also modular) creative tool can control Isadora in a more 'linear' way using OSC.

Chataigne - https://benjamin.kuperberg.fr/chataig...
Isadora - https://troikatronix.com/

Isadora + Blender + 3ds

I recently discovered a little gem of a addon that finally provides Isadora users with a better workflow for importing the 3ds file format that Isadora requires.

Previously there was only one way; using MeshLab. Now, there is an amazing addon for blender since version 4.0 and it works very well. SO I decided to make a tutorial or two. Might be useful for some.

_REMOTE PERFORMANCES MADE EASY!
IzzyCast enables the sharing of multiple streams of video, audio, and data between computers running Isadora located anywhere in the world. By combining IzzyCast with Isadora‘s ultra-flexible architecture, users are able to transmit, receive, route, mix, and control live media sources in ways limited only to the user‘s imagination.
Using IzzyCast, Isadora users can jump into the world of remote performances without any of the complications associated with traditional networking and broadcast setups.

IzzyCast allows for unmatched control and creativity. The audio, video, and data from each participant in an IzzyCast Session can be integrated directly into the Isadora’s node-based programming environment.

Applications for IzzyCast abound! Now actors and dancers in remote locations can join live performers onstage with ease! For broadcast and live events, IzzyCast‘s data transmission capabilities let producers, directors, and technicians make adjustments to their talent’s setup remotely by controlling hardware like PTZ cameras and DMX lighting instruments. IzzyCast truly opens up an audio, visual, and control portal between locations across the globe.

This runs in the browser and can be downloaded as .obj

Really simple, easy to use and quite fun! Perfect for creating obj models for importing into disguise/d3, etc.

I felt this was worth a post. Importing a 3D model into After Effects opens quite a few doors!

It is not as fancy and advanced as Element 3D - but it's still progress!
