Description
If you haven’t already heard, a new operator family is coming to TouchDesigner! Point Operators (POPs for short) are a new family of GPU-based operators in TouchDesigner that are used to create and/or modify 3D data.
In this video, Jack DiLaura (@jackdilaura) walks you through some of the core concepts behind the new POP family of operators in TouchDesigner. You’ll learn about the different types of 3D data that POPs can contain, the primitive types they support, their uses in 3D rendering and instancing, as well as the performance benefits they bring to the table in comparison to their predecessor, the SOP family.
Disclaimer: one thing to note is that POPs are still in the alpha stage, and so this information may change by the time they are added to the stable release!
