Good Listeners Ep 5 - Artist Interview w/ RamonPang + The Gang Discusses Big Name Artists Supporting Smaller Names, Recent Adventures at Shows, and More!
On Episode 005 of Good Listeners, the gang is thrilled to welcome the ridiculously talented RamonPang to the podcast! Based in LA, RamonPang is a left-field trap producer with a unique fusion of several different genres such as glitch, IDM and electronica. His wide range of sounds and styles have caught the attention of names like Four Tet and Djemba Djemba. Huge shoutout to our very own Becca and Meghan, who did a fantastic job with this interview! They dive into RamonPang’s influences early on in his musical journey, his “Third Places” album that dropped towards the end of Summer, and how he approaches trap and bass music today. Be sure to check out the guest mix he did for HeardItHereFirst earlier this year: https://soundcloud.com/hearditherefirstmusic/heard-it-here-first-guest-mix-vol-xx-ramonpang
The gang recaps their recent adventures at various shows like Flume, ODESZA, and the Chef Boyarleet Tour (Chef Boyarbeatz and leet) as well as highlighting our very own Noah Sherman’s incredible moment at EZoo with Wakaan artist Sully (check out the video here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CiNyy7wJ4EG/?hl=en). From there, the gang dives deep into the recent trend of big name artists bringing up some of our favorite smaller, up-and-coming names on label compilations, festivals and more. They cap it off talking about some of their favorite sets from this year featuring artists on the undercard of festival lineups.
