Could you please try making image to be web optimised .. some large images sometimes do that .. I'm happy to stay with you till we fix this. Yet for every one if these issues, keeping images optimised for web always solved it ..
Thanks, it was a 1920x1080 jpg, are there specific file sizes, resolutions, etc needed on this site? The error message could be changed or a best practices link could be helpful

1080p ok.. but optimal image cuts bits of top and bottom. So keep important things centred.

The file was 1.1 Mbs, I tried compressing it a bit more and now it worked. Is there a file size limit?
Under 1mb is a good guide.
