VC | EP26 - Actualize / Dave Schunemann - The Actual Actualizer of Visuals, VJing & Map

EP26 is here with the main man ‪@actualizevisuals1027‬ / David Schunemann A true staple of our scene and one of the sweetest & nicest VJs I've ever met!! From projection mapping installations at your favorite festivals to high end custom content & live Visuals for massive acts to teaching up and coming VJs, Dave does it all and has been growing and achieving his dreams and goals for quite some time! It was such a pleasure talking shop with Dave and his insights on the business of VJing and behind the scenes of the scene was truly inspiring and eye opening. For Dave's set he graciously shows us into his world of ‪@ResolumeVJSoftware‬ !!! Check out Dave's Socials and take a lesson if you want to learn VJing - https://linktr.ee/Actualize

(Chapters coming soon) The Visual Cast Podcast is a weekly, recorded live visual podcast, where we interview some of the best, most influential and most talented visual artists from around the world! We break up the interview with the "set", an interactive portion of the cast where the guest chooses what they want to share with us!! It can be anything from a live generative visuals set to a show and tell of a past project, or in this case a look at Resolume workflows.

Yes, if he perform at places like "Electronic Forest" he must be one of the top VJs.
His website is only up to date until 2023, but he probably doesn't have time to update it because of all the VJ jobs & gigs he does.

Well, that's exactly what I mean when I speak out against video loop sales packages, this contentpackages shity. You can certainly use someone else's video loop in individual cases for once, but actually that's the core of VJ work, to create by U own & for self contents specifically for certain events and shows made. Of course I use videos too, but I make them myself using 3D apps, mandelbulber, Gimp & Krita and tools like NukeX etc. The live performance is just the result, like the dessert, of the hard work. And this is what distinguishes the real VJ from the standard DJ who just uses other people's productions for his work, whereas a music DJ is also more of an entertainer and moderator since the beginning of this profession then a artist.
If you can't create cool content yourself, you should call yourself a videooperator or videotecnical rather than a VJ, & to which is why I don't really like the abbreviation VJ and I see myself more as a video or visual artist.

!!!
So just because you can operate a bit and use a program like Arena, VDMX or something similar via content packages does not make you a VJ! -!!!!!!!
